Goals of our Ride

In terms of where we are going, we would like to begin in the Atlantic at Matt’s hometown in Maine, go through central New Hampshire and cross the Green Mountains in Vermont, hop on the Erie Canal Bike path across New York, cross Niagara Falls into Ontario, then back into the mitten of Michigan, north to the Upper Penninsula, bounce along the shoreline of Superior, then cross Northern Wisconsin, then through northern Minnesota and through the plains and badlands of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota, then through northern Montana to Glacier National Park, after which we head north into Alberta to the Canadian Rockies through Banff, then through British Columbia to Whistler, Squamish and then to the Pacific, Vancouver. After that we have inklings wander south to Washington, Oregon, and Northern California, ending in San Francisco. We shall see what the road brings. -AHD

Mission Statement: To connect our minds and bodies to the North American Continent through channeling and emoting creative, constructive positivity by both our experiences and inexperiences. To have ourselves be humbled and empowered the sheer size of the continent and the life forms that call it home. To define for ourselves for the time being, what it means to be an American/what our citizenship means and gaining perspective from atop our saddles to be part of the most _____(fill in the blank) country on earth. To express these discoveries, realizations, experiences to others. To have an amazing time on bicycles while living on Earth.

The greatest adventures cannot be taken; rather, they take you. And we have wanted that and we are ready to give ourselves to this adventure. The troughs will be weathered, the crests will be ridden, and we will venture out into the country with curious minds tied to the philosophy of exploration, which is to say, untied, and eager for whatever is around the next bend. -MMD
